Operation Blazing Sword

  1. Explanation of Operation Blazing Sword.
    1. Pairs queer people w/ instructors. 
    2. Decentralized for member and instructor protection. 
  2. Upcoming 9th court cases that may affect Arizonans.
    1. Sanchez v. Bonta – Suppressor ban
    2. Duncan v. Bonta – High capacity (more than 8/9 rounds) ban

Instructor Role 

  1. Discord is the most active channel for TPP in regards to mentors and conversations.  
  2. Social Media is used to announce events. 
  3. Now there is going to be a distinction between the mentor position and instructor position.
    1. Mentor = Built-in friend to help ease newbies into owning a weapon. Hold hands, answer questions, go shooting with basic safety instructions, etc. 
    2. Instructor = Certified trainer; can be contacted for classes from basic firearms to other weapons. 
    3. Currently have 2 – Sami and Johnny Wafflehouse. 
  4. General safety class will be held on April 26th, 2025 for 2.5 hours (location and time to be announced). 
  5. Kate will help pair new members w/ mentors and work with mentors to schedule safety class. 

10-Shot Competition

  1. We’re holding a 10-shot competition every month. 
  2. Prize is for the Bragz (and possibly something silly). 
  3. Rules:
    1. Have to be 10 yards (30 feet).
    2. Use the 8 x 11.5 printed target. 
    3. Must use a handgun. 
    4. Post image in Discord in the ten-shot-shootout. 
    5. At PetetheTaco and he’ll use software to determine your score. 
    6. Rules will be posted/printed.
    7. Two divisions 
  4. Goals:
    1. To practice and get better. 

Growing Pains

  1. The club is three months old, so there’s still a lot in flux while the Founders.
  2. Additionally, membership continues to grow at a large pace. 
  3. There’s going to be conflict, but we’re working to put the levers in place to make sure we cover most situations and have mechanisms to pull when there are issues. 
  4. Thank you for your patience. 

Potluck

  1. We’re planning a potluck in the next month or two. 
  2. We’ll plan on having burgers and hotdogs for the grill. 
  3. Looking for people to bring food (and maybe even compete).
    1. Okay to bring store bought things or make them. 
    2. Games
    3. Music (bring your own instrument).
