April Recapped the Minutes from the previous meeting.

Setting up a date to move the bank account once filed.
Filing for 501.c.3 will happen once bylaws are finalized and voted on.
Proposed to file by Tuesday next Tuesday (delayed until Secretary is voted in).
Bylaws do not have to be finalized to file with the IRS.
Need to elect/appoint a Secretary.

April: Wants to keep things more organic for now as the Board is working out, but with the idea that it can be implemented when needed in the future.

Who has the legal liability should something happen at a TPP event? Who can be sued (board members vs. organizations).
April says we’re protected (I.E. individuals can’t be sued).
Dane looked up: Charity protection law protects non-profit volunteers from liability when operating in good faith.
Kitty recommends looking to get insurance.
April will get quotes from insurance to see what we might need to pay on an insurance policy.

Sami recommends talking to the board of commerce and a lawyer to seek further guidance on how to proceed.

Will hold off on the shirt while the RSO question is being answered.
Cayce suggests focusing on funds dedicated to instructors.

April: How much would it cost Sami to get RSO certification to train others to become RSO instructors.
Sami’s not opposed; but recommends Zach for the role as Zach has more experience as an RSO.

Reach out to Gay Chamber of Commerce to get advice on bylaws/inquire about a lawyer who can help with waiver/other legal concerns.
Reach out to some mentors/instructors about being a special lecturer at the monthly meeting.
Create worksheets for CCW class (Kitty volunteers to assist).
Look into USCCA FSO course to see if any wiggle room on price; reach out to Zack about sponsoring his FSO certified instructor training to then start offering courses to members.

April:
Locate Stop the Bleed and CPR trainers/instructors and start scheduling classes.
Up request for donations, maybe with listing out goals (i.e. paying for stop the bleed classes while we look for volunteer people). Close Gofundme, and open a new one with goals, if possible.
Ask members if they know any non-profit and/or 2nd amendment rights lawyers who may do some pro bono work for us (or give a discount).
Look for grants for organization (Note from Kitty: There was someone who said there were a grant writer in the past, maybe do an all call to see if they can help?).
Delegate a call to arms/open letter for financial support to members who believe in the mission and want to help us accomplish it through these means: Insurance, certified instructor classes, Stop the Bleed/CPR changes.
